 The magic of spinning

What is the soda of riding in the studio?

The room is dark, the music is rhythmic and energetic, the sweat is dripping down my eyes, the pulse is high and the breathing rate is fast. I'm about to give up when my beautiful instructor, Michal, walks by and touches my hand and says in a whisper, "Come on, you can! Don't give up on yourself…" and at that moment a new burst of energy flows in my blood and I leap forward with my friend and continue training מ

Yes yes, this is the Spinning class (Indoor Cycling). A type of activity that came to us as early as the end of the last century, and unlike other popular trends that have been and are gone, spinning is here to stay. What is spinning? What is the magic secret of riding in the studio?

Spinning is an aerobic sport in which one rides a stationary bicycle inside a studio. The training was built for professional riders but was converted and adapted to the general public in the various fitness clubs around the world.

Spinning classes come to burn calories and improve fitness. We can find in class, riders side by side, professional cyclists who come to keep fit in times when it is not possible to ride outside (winter, darkness), mature women who want to sculpt their shape and shed extra pounds, teenagers who want to expend energy and more and more. In the end, everyone comes for the special atmosphere in the spinning rooms that combines lighting, colors, and music. Some trainees find that walking on the treadmill bores them, with the spinning class it is much easier to pass the time and clear your head.

Spinning is an intense sport that burns a lot of unnecessary calories (600-1000 calories per hour of training). This is a type of activity that is both individual and group. During a relatively short workout, there is very varied work on cardiopulmonary endurance (fat burning), shaping, and toning (especially the lower body, but the abdominal muscles and shoulder girdle also work very hard). This is a great type of activity for people who are short on time and patience and are unable to persevere alone in the gym. Nice to see, whoever perseveres in the activity sees results very quickly.

Spinning does not require thought or coordination (as in step aerobics, kickboxing or Zumba) and is therefore suitable for a very large variety of populations (especially men who know how to do only one action at a time, like me!).

Cycling training, as well as spinning, is the safest training, for those who adhere to basic safety rules and take care to guide their bikes professionally (only with us at Life & Fitness does the riding basics lesson take place in a studio for the inexperienced in the spinning industry). The level of shock on the skeletal system is low, the load on the joints is low in relation to aerobic activity such as running. The sitting position and posture on the bike allow us stability, comfort, and balance. In spinning training, there is no knee abrasion or back injury.
